Ten x Thirty

UPDATE! 27 FRIENDS HAVE DONATED SO FAR! THREE SLOTS LEFT TO FILL!

I am looking for thirty people to give TEN dollars (or more) to build some sturdy, wooden tables and benches and to buy some new blankets and sheets for 43 children living outside of Kampala, Uganda, which is located in East Africa. (Our church has already purchased mattresses and had 20 bunk beds built.)

These children are not nameless faces. Let me introduce you to two of them....

This is Nkadu Rose. She is eight years old whose mother died and her father is unknown. She likes to read and wants to be a nurse.

And this little guy is named Sebagala Kevin. He is five years old and is the survivor of a family infected with aids. He wants to be a soccer player. (Nice boots!)

They all have names; Fred...Scovia...Madinah...Ruth...Ritah...Simeon...Esther...Happy.....

I am traveling  to Uganda in two weeks to assess their needs and the possibility of setting up a sponsor program to continue the support that our church began almost two years ago. That's the boring yet important part. The real joy will be in meeting these kids face to face. Playing hide and seek (Do they even know how to play that?) And hearing their individual stories about how they came to live in the orphanage.

I do know that they do NOT have any tables to sit at to eat their meals or do their schoolwork, and their bedding is in dire need of a fresh make over.

I will be doing the purchasing of the bedding in Kampala and hiring a Ugandan local to build the tables and benches.

Thirty people. Ten dollars each. Two weeks left.

You can use the chip in button on the right of this page, or email me if you would like to donate by mail. boothbayharborgirl@yahoo.com

Lets set these kids up with some basics that we all take for granted. I will keep you updated on the goal of thirty donors!

Thank you!! (Will take lots of pictures for you!)
